You’re wrong. As much as I think Adam’s comics are lazy he’s right. He’s getting paid for doing minimal work which is fucking ideal and you can’t hate him for being this fortunate. Whatever connections or friends he had to make to get into his position you can’t insult him because he made his way. And he has every right to defend himself when being attacked by jealous people.

Wakfu is the reason why I cock an eye at anyone who says that something is lower quality cause it’s animated in flash, and also is a great inspiration for what the program can do (and why, in spite of its flaws, I still use it.)
Low quality animation is over-tweened and often lacks proper easing. That can be done in flash, toonboom, pretty much any 2D animation software. Don’t say something is low quality because it’s made in flash when you mean it’s low quality because of shit tweening.
I hate to be that guy but…This Gif doesn’t prove anything.
That gif only proves the frames were pulled together in Flash as a movie clip. But it still doesn’t prove the animation was done in exclusively in flash. I mean before I would praise Wakfu for being “animated in Flash” but now that i understand how programs works I can’t help but play Rubilax’s advocate with this and be just a little skeptical.
All I see from that gif is a movie clip set on a tween to move. There are no individual keyframes shown (which you wouldn’t want anyway if you don’t want a cluttered workspace. You’d group that stuff). The purple frames indicate anything that’s tweened. So really when you observer them you can easily recognize that all these keyframes are just camera movements with another layer of effects (layer YugeO) coming in at 120 that is also a movie clip.
Point is these layers with few keyframes could be two things.
A movie clip (or graphic) holding assets drawn in Flash or
A movie clip (or graphic) holding imported assets drawn in another program. An image sequence.
Seeing what is actually inside those movie clips would be proof that Wakfu is animated in Flash but what’s shown isn’t proof.
It’s the same thing with After Effects. It’s one thing to say that something was done native IN after effects but anyone who’s ever used After Effects as a drawing tool knows how much easier it is to use After Effects as what it is. A Compositor. I think it would be more accurate to say that these shots were possibly rendered with Flash but that gif doesn’t show that it was indeed “animated” with Flash.
Whereas I see a shows like Johnny Test and The Nutshack and because of how the lines on the characters look, i can believe that it was both animated and rendered in Flash.
If you ever worked in Flash you’ve seen how Flash creates lines with is tools but then when you look at a normal still shot from Wakfu
It’s not as obvious to the point where even IF the core animation was done in flash, you could argue that it was cleaned up before or after it was shown on television.

It works in Walking Dead since there is NO media about zombies anywhere so people are just learning how to deal with zombies. But one of the kids JUST said that zombies HAVE been in movies and video games. There’s no way anyone in this school should be this off guard. Man turns into a wolf at midnight? That’s a fucking werewolf. Sharp toothed pale man sucking blood? That’s a fucking vampire. Supernatural moaning apparition? That is a fucking ghost. Zombies are only one of the most common supernatural enemies out. I refuse to believe that several students and teachers can’t look at these things and say “That’s a FUCKING ZOMBIE. HIT IT IN THE HEAD. SECURE THE SCHOOL.” You don’t have to believe in something to know what to do if it becomes reality.

Okay what the fuck. We’re getting cable and the guy was supposed to come over at 2-4 to figure out why our shit isn’t working. He’s supposed to call before he comes here otherwise he’ll just take off. My room is upstairs and I never hear anyone knock so at 2 I go downstairs to listen out for the guy.
I wait till 3:41 for this guy to call. I go off to feed the dogs in the next room when I hear the phone ring. I get to it and it stops after ringing twice. Twice. I check the number and try to call back but nothing happens. I go check the front and I see a white truck who is presumably the cable guy driving off. He just so happened didn’t see me come onto the porch.
Bad luck.. Whatever. I get that. Its fine.
But now my roommate is pissed because he thinks I was fucking off upstairs instead of listening out. Apparently the neighbor who ALWAYS sits outside says that he was there for at least an hour and that he was knocking.
So now all the evidence is against me and I know this slackjaw faggot didn’t do his job properly. Its not even that I have to wait until Sunday to get cable now. Its the fact that now I’m the bad guy for doing my job and taking the blame for someone who didn’t do theirs
If you don’t know what it is, its just a battle monster/ puzzle game in which you line up elements to attack. Its kind of like Tetris attack minus the time limit. It’s pretty addicting and I have to admit, the only reason I gave it a second try was because I heard how popular it was in Japan.
In my app store travels, noticed this game is actually a format. There are several other games exactly like this. Play everyday to get bonuses, power up and evolve your monsters, befriend people you don’t even know for points to roll for rare powerful fighters..you get it. But in my exploration, I learned why P and D was the most popular of them all. It has a very distinct style. Its art and gameplay just beats the competition. You can keep making the same type of game but only one will get the formula right.
This isn’t about this genre though. Turns out another Japanese IOS game caught my attention. Bound Monsters
Unlike P and D, this game however is only in japanese. My curiosity got the better of me so I just had to find a way to try it out. What I found was both awesome and annoying to me.
Its the exact same game as P and D. Given, this time to battle you play in a pinball style to knock out the enemies (It starts off really easy but gets harder as you move along), but the format is the exact same. Hell I don’t even have to know japanese to know what all the menu options do and finding abilities isn’t hard either. Everything is laid out exactly the same.
As fate would have it I stumbled upon yet ANOTHER japanese game

Now of course you’re expecting me to say that this is the exact same game too. Well I won’t. This game is completely different. This time, you play a Guitar Hero/Rockband like game to win.
That’s it. That’s the only change. Even in THIS game the format is exactly the same.
What the actual fuck, is this what is passing for video games nowadays? I mean even with RPGs out on normal consoles, there are similarities but these just seem like completely reskinned games.
What is up with this? (I still find them all addicting as hell but it just kind of annoyed me)
