So this Wander Over Yonder show looks like it could be pretty fun
Given the named involved (Craig McCracken, Lauren Faust, Jack McBrayer, Keith Ferguson) and the fact that it’s been trying to get made for years it’s already built up a pretty sizeable adult fanbase considering it’s not even out yet
That could be a good or bad thing
I’m not sure what the fuss is about.
I mean it doesn’t look bad, and for all I know it could be my new favorite show when it airs, but I don’t see anything worth getting exited over just from the preview material.
If I had to put a pin on it? Personally it’s the whole approach: Weird guy travels to weird places, sees weird things, meets weird people. I mean, look at DiveQuest, or Quorum. It’s the sort of thing I like most. And it’s a serial odyssey, which is always fun. Vaguely reminiscent of Samurai Jack if Jack was a dirty hippie.
The premise obliviously optimistic protagonist are a big part of it, but the character and scenery design really takes it to the next level for me. The way the various aliens look really appeals to my own aesthetics. It’s the kind of show I’d want to make, if I had that kind of talent.
Yo…all that jiggin’ sold me instantly.
Oh god damn it Zeto. Now I can’t stop imagining Wander as this guy.
