Personally I don’t think so. In both league and dota I feel its best to utilize moving the camera and map clicks. But I don’t know if its a recent change but the camera seems really close in Dota now. So i lock on with F1 when I’m chasing but while I’m being chased I usually just click once on the map to get a general sense of where I’m running too and then start looking for places to go while the hero is moving.
In league though I look at the map so much it doesn’t seem to matter if I lock it or not. But I still like moving the camera around.

No but seriously try it. Its not as bad as it sounds. Maybe the comparison is out there but its just noodles with sauce on more sauce and fish with salad in bread.
