“If you like Pina Coladas and getting cold in the rain.” Catchy right? Escape by Rupert Holmes. Well I’ve been telling everyone this.
Did you know that song isn’t about Pina Coladas? No there’s no deeper meaning. The song is about a man and a woman having trouble in their relationship. The man finds an ad in the paper inviting him to escape from his bland life to chill. He goes to the location requested since he does find all of the things in the ad attractive. But he then finds out it was his wife who put the ad in the paper. Its a sweet ending since they learn that they both are pretty common after all and they escape together.
But do you realize what this means? The song is about both the man and the woman plotting to cheat on their spouse.
