I think I need a teacher to teach me vanishing points, I can’t really go beyond drawing a box. Envisioning a box too large for the canvas is too abstract for me. Oh wait, my neighbor is an artist, I can’t wait to get home
Lucky. Ask them. Its really simple once you get into it.
Have you ever used the Perspective tool (Shift+P) in Illustrator?
It doesn’t solve the problem but it might help a little to just play around with it.
You kind of have to mess around with it to get the angle you want. But practicing drawing boxes, and then books, and then cylindrical objects over it really helps. (Especially when you don’t have time to do measurements and rulers by yourself. )
There’s also this.
I used to have this entire book in a PDF somewhere.
My teachers taught me mostly everything though.
I’m telling you, Buy a canvas book, find a university, find the artsy people and sneak into an open life drawing session. Just pretend you’re a student and kind of watch everyone. You’ll be surprised what you can learn.
