I was DMing 5th ed. My mid level players were in the throne room of a fire giant hidden behind his obsidian throne as the giant was barking orders at his Flind general to move on the Duke’s forces at the base of the volcano. I was quite expertly (if I do say so myself) role playing the CRAP out of the giant. Until the giant addressed the flind general by name - Thrashjaw. The bard’s character looks at me and says, “if I ran that name through Google Translate a couple times, I bet Smash Mouth would be a result.” The party immediately, as if on cue, launched into a reeeeally bad rendition of “All Star”. I almost spite-TPKed them for that.
