STOP COMPARING EVERY DIFFICULT GAME TO DARK SOULS
Dark Souls as a series is NOT as hard as people make it out to be. Once you learn the fundamentals, what strategies work best for bosses and how to properly build a child can finish all three games. Dark Souls is highly regarded as this difficult series that came out in a time where games held your hand throughout the experience. Games did things like recover your health when you stayed in cover and allowed you to save before a boss or EVERYWHERE.
Compare that to old games like Super Ghosts and Goblins where the challenge isn’t just remembering a certain part and trying it again after you fail but instead remembering the ENTIRE GAME and having the motor skills EACH PLAYTHROUGH. You do NOT start the ENTIRE GAME OVER when you die in Dark Souls. Anything you lose CAN be recovered with enough patience. It’s NOT that hard.
It’s the same thing with early Megaman games and how people complained about the Megaman 9 game for the Wii. These games (especially NES games) were built in a certain way to be difficult because the consoles they were on are limited. You can really beat Megaman in an hour. It’s not a long game. To make up for this the games were made to be difficult and they were MADE FOR KIDS.
So stop comparing every hard game to Dark Souls there are much harder games that exists. Cuphead was obviously inspired and made to emulate arcade games that were purposely hard to get others to put in more and more coins to complete. It’s not Soulslike at all. It’s arcade like.
