IT DOES EXIST.

Okay. I knew I saw this version before and I’m glad I can point this out. 

It seems that someone (official or not) edited the original OP for whatever reason and the edited version has been posted all over youtube for covers and parodies etc. 

Here’s an example of one such parody.

The irony with the artist on bottom right follows the original OP at the 1:04 minute mark to the end but the rest of the video is off. Take a watch. 1:04 and beyond his shots are completely different. It’s because he’s parodying the original unedited Opening.

Still don’t know what I’m talking about? I’ll explain it to you in detail. What really stuck with me in the second opening was the timing and order we saw each of the characters throughout the entire thing. It’s how I always remember it. But a majority of covers and parodies are mimicking the wrong and INFERIOR version.

Compare the original’s shots to the top left in the second video.

Let’s start with the very first shot of Deku and All might.

We have all 5 different shots and angles of All Might and Deku before the title shows. Whereas in the other, it uses the shots in a completely different order and even reuses the 5th and final shot twice. 

After the Title

The order of the students being shown is drastically changed. In the original Ochako is shown first instead of Bakugou.

Originally we get two shots of Deku and Todoroki matching the softer
and slightly slower lyrics before Todoroki takes notice and falls into line to oppose Deku. From there it’s instantly cut to a shot of them fighting as rivals. Point being there’s a connection between Deku and Todoroki before the action starts.

In the other version Todoroki is shown earlier and completely separate from Deku and there’s a huge disconnect because of it. Sure the line up and action is the exact same but the emotions that come before are lost to seeing the other kids as opposed to these two rivals being the last long shots in our heads.

From here on out the shots are almost identical until All Might breaks up the kids fighting in the middle. Again pay attention to the bottom right video. This doesn’t happen. All Might appears after the battles to take a stand by his other staff members in a full clip instead of a cropped one. 

The battles continue and the individual students are no longer in sync behind their own backdrops and no longer match the music like the original.

My point being that this “edited version” is a clusterfuck and heavily contrasts the original. And so many people just took it for granted without checking to see how the original OP actually played. I don’t think a lot of people even noticed and now that we’re on a third Opening it’s too late anyway. But this really bugged me because I remembered the opening being so well made and all I saw on youtube were these edits that just felt wrong.
