I just had a really heartfeft round of SS13. 

Imagine two lizard officers. Winks-At-Strangers (me) a female black lizard officer and Loves-the-Lizard a blue male lizardman.

Loves had been targeted by the AI and Captain. Basically because Lizards are kind of hated. All of Sec was helping him preventing him from getting executed. All but the boss. The Head of Security wanted his head on a platter. Being a fellow Lizard, Winks stood by his side and followed him to make sure nothing happened to Loves. However Loves did something that she could not defend . He kidnapped and spaced himself with the Head of Security. After that moment their paths diverged. He sought to overthrow the Head of Security but her loyalty stayed with the station. 

Winks grabbed an EVA suit and searched for the spaced HOS. She found both bodies, dead. She cloned the Head of Security but left Loves uncloned as he had betrayed the station. In an effort to get Head of Security fixed up, Winks was vulnerable during a radiation pass and suffered near death experiences. The doctors helped her and she gained super powers that she didn’t know how to control. Eventually she learned that she healed extremely fast and was basically immune to the effects of cold and lack of oxygen in space. 

Winks used this power to jump into the armory to fight off threats until she heard a familiar voice. Loves was back and she was happy to see him. He was not happy to see her. He stunned and kidnapped her and escaped the crew with her in custody. He attempted to put her into a long sleep to emulate what he had felt. In the end Loves became the new HOS since the revived one was unfit to serve. We talked about how awful death was and that I was wrong to not revive him no matter what he did. Winks felt extremely guilty and showed very little resistance because of it. She learned that he deeply felt that everyone deserves a second chance if they’re aligned with the station and showed pride in escaping death to become HOS like he promised.

In the end the two of them stood side by side as they left the station. Both Lizard Officers with a branching paths. One grew powerful because of her unwavering loyalty and the other grew powerful because of his determination to overthrow a corrupt system. And throughout this whole thing I was listening to the Hot Fuzz soundtrack and it matched up intense and emotional moments perfectly and 

God damn I love SS13

It’s just amazing how there can be 100 people in the same server and everyone has a different story throughout a single session.
