Disney’s 101 Dalmatians was first released on January 25, 1961.
At the time, the company was in debt following Sleeping Beauty (1959) and even talked about disbanding the animation division to focus on live action films and the theme parks. Fortunately for them, 101 Dalmatians became the highest-grossing film of 1961. (x)
This movie is a nightmare when I think about it financially
So look. The neighbors just moved in and they have a total of 4 dogs. To go with our total of 7 (And also it’s illegal to have more than 4 dogs outside at once)
That’s 11 dogs between the two houses. Pretty close to their initial 12 in the movie. (Or was it 14)
Point is with JUST our dogs we have to buy a 50 LB bag of dog food each week. Sometimes twice a week depending on if they decide to eat. Meaning Each Dog gets about three servings before that bag is empty. With 11 dogs that bag would at the very least be halfway gone before A DAY is even up. And these are pretty big dogs.
That 50LB bag costs 20 dollars. I would basically be paying 20 dollars a day to keep up with 14 dogs when they fully grow. But thats just FOOD wise. I haven’t even mentioned the other related expenses
Imagining having to pay for 101 dogs daily stresses me out
