I have a poke question… and pls don’t reply with “get gud” because I find this super upsetting already… is there any way around those pokemon that keep calling for back up. like… I have it down to 1 HP and killed its friend… it calls for back up… I kill its friend again. more back up, I kill it and lower its friend’s health…. MORE BACKUP. I am not enjoying that. I don’t usually like turn based games to begin with and this is just infuriating to me.

Seriously… I enjoy monster hunter, a game that fucks me over constantly because of rare drops and insanely powerful monsters to deal with, but this single thing makes me not want to play the game, please help me because I want to enjoy pokemon

Honestly I find it’s a bad mechanic. I was in my second trial and that piece of shit kept doing the same thing to me. I was so mad I had to wonder trade for an hour before I calmed down.

The best thing to do is have moves that attack everyone or moves that damage every turn. Seriously the third (or fourth?) trial screwed me over because the boss would not stop calling for help. Against a Totem pokemon the best thing to do is just focus the Totem because that’s where all the real damage is coming from. But in the case of just wild pokemon, yeah it’s a huge pain. If a pokemon calls for help, you should be able to supply some back up so your pokemon isn’t out numbered instead of just standing there like the blank faced protagonist you are
