>Buy Pokemon X in 2013

>Somehow manage to lose the cartridge halfway through the game

>Buy Y and playthrough again

>Get bored of the story/ game after I get my team

>Put it down for years.

>Recently decide to try to at least finish the main content since there hasn’t been a pokemon game where I haven’t at least beaten the elite 4

>Gyms are painfully easy

>Team Baddie is painfully easy

>Your Rivals are fucking morons who keep challenging despite the obvious skill difference

>Get the 8th badge and finally get to Victory Road

>This sudden spike in difficulty.

It’s not really difficult it’s just I didn’t have to tryhard at all for 90% of the game and all of a sudden there are npcs that not only counter my team but use skills correctly to the point where 2 of my best guys are wiped out by a Weavile because I wasn’t actually thinking I had to buy full restores to beat these stupid trainers and that my speed was high enough. But not high enough for well timed quick attacks.

Like again. It’s not hard. I return with potions and it’s a breeze but still how I can go for winning doing almost nothing to all of a sudden being able to compete at the demanding skill level the game should have had from the beginning? Y is probably my most hated of the series content wise thus far this being one of the reasons. And I can’t believe I’m saying this because Black 2 pissed me off
