So for the longest time I had a dragon OC in the MLPFIM universe that I didn’t want to reveal because I thought his story was edgy/tryhardy/cringey as fuck. This guy has been hanging around my head since 2010 before Dragon Quest even came out. The idea of him was always there but I’ve never actually drawn or designed him. But I still liked the idea of the character so I never scrapped it completely. I even posted the full idea on this blog before. If you want to read the whole thing here it is but I’ll summarize it.

Basically this character is a slightly older teenaged dragon who’s a huge mess. He ends up doing some crime against his kind that gets him exiled. I decided he told someone the source of dragon magic since back in the day dragons used to be able to use magic. He traded the secret for power and as a result crippled the race. Being exiled by his people and so upset at his choice he decided to attack the pony princesses and either live or die as a hero. He failed and was sentenced to death. 

The Elder Dragon (Which is essentially a dragon version of Celestia) heard of his capture and decided to send others to free him. He was blasted out of prison and went to escape but instead of leaving the pony city he went to save the youngest Princess, Luna, who was being captured. Because he saved her, Celestia abolished his crimes against the crown and he became an ally to both the Equines and the Dragons working to keep the peace between the two races until a greater evil was defeated. Since he is small he uses his own magic and breathe as well as weapons to do battle. 

The link to the page has his story in more depth as well as all of the stupid ideas that pop into my head when watching the show but this is the barebones of it all. He gets frozen Avatar style, returns 1000 years later and I figure he goes off to find and train other dragons.
