Hey you wanna go see a movie

Sure but I don’t know what’s out

Lets go see “totally true depressing story about southern racist white men who fight in the south for black people and equality because not all whites are bad and also our protagonist is totally not jesus” 

Jesus christ who wants to pay 8 dollars to see sad movies? I mean Free State of Jones was a great story but I’ve had enough of the “Your ancestors suffered to do the right thing so that means you need to also do the right thing to” narratives. People back in the day had to suffer their times and get through their struggles why can’t I just do the same thing without having to constantly be reminded that YOUR GREAT GRANDFATHER HAD IT WORSE. 

As much as I complain about the premise of the narrative it IS still a great drama movie though. Go see it if you like guns, comrades and bitter sweet endings.
