So on my forever hunt for cheap but really good tablets I found parblo. An all I have to say..is Wow.
Price: I got mine through a bid on ebay for $49.99 USD and I think I was just lucky no one else was bidding on the item.. I have seen them for $57 -$70 + but I think it depends on the seller cause I could also find a lot for what I bought it for plus free shipping. It just takes some hunting. I would highly suggest aliexpress or ebay for the price I got it for.
Here is the seller I got it from [link] (ebay)
They were super fast with delivery and amazing to work with transaction wise!
Pros: Large active drawing space ( 10x6 ), sleek/thin/ light compact over all design, 2048 level pressure sensitive drawing pen , 8 user-defined shortcuts, rechargeable pen, legit paper like surface and for open source users 100% compatible with gimp, krita and mypaint.
Cons: My only issue with this is that I had to hunt for the drivers by finding the model number of my tablet which led me to a Russian site. Which lemme tell you was a mess.
I don’t speak Russian but lucked out and saw the picture of my tablet, its name then a strange model number (fyi:
Ugee M708). Which I googled and it led me to the original company of the drivers which is in Chinese @_@;;; .So that was a big run around.
The driver cd that comes with the tablet is rubbish and does nothing so don’t even bother installing that. To save time I downloaded the drivers for you and you can download it here [link] (safe link/mega uploads)
If they ever have updates, here is the site with all the drivers [link]
personal feel- I love the control when drawing. Parble A610 has to be my fave tablet yet. I have worked with wacom(graphire 4/bamboo fun), huion( H610), then monoprice(10x6.25 w hot keys/ 10x6.25 with 2048 lvls)
Wacom being my least fave and most expensive, huion having a texture surface that is a bit too glass like but good for fast painting and lovely pressure sensitivity, and monoprice with a lovely paper texture but a bit too big space wise for me.
Parble A610 has a surface texture that feels like you are just drawing on a sketch book. An that to me is amazing. Among other things stated above. An I’m sure a lot more as I use it.
A fast doodle I did in mypaint and it was like I was doodling on a paper sketch pad u///u
Hope this helped anyone looking for an affordable tablet /o/
good luck!
I’m loving it so far. It took me an hour to set up before I realized the cord they sent me was not working. Luckilly I had an extra cord and it works perfectly now. Its been a while since I’ve had to use my arm to reach the ends of the canvas which means I have more control in smaller areas which is perfect.
It seems to me that either Ugee or Parblo used to same model and slapped their logo on either products since they both seem to work with Ugee’s Driver that TaintedSweet posted above.
Not much to show since I’m just playing around with it now. The only thing I don’t like about it is the fact that the pen needs to be recharged every so often but its lasting now so that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Inutuos felt more like a paper texture in my opinion but its still miles better than the bamboo I was currently using. Not to mention the inut I was planning on getting came with a bunch of extra software I just didn’t want. I just wanted a simple big tablet.
Its going to take me a second to get used to it. But I feel like I have more sketch control and more lineweight control in general.
