FYI, Heresy's art isn't watermarked on the pictures posted on the booru. It's only added when he posts it on Tumblr.

That’s kind of neat but I feel like that’s something anyone could do. I guess only watermarking your site versions and then providing sources would basically solidify you against art fraud. I could do that.

I voted no, but it really depends on how the watermark looks. If it's like the one on DeviantArt that thing is horrible.

Well i just mean a signature. I agree Deviantarts is bad but I don’t think I’d make it too offputting

Question: Watermarking Fanart

I didn’t realize this until just seeing those Zootopia pics from Heresy but that’s something about my art that I just don’t do.

I don’t watermark and I KNOW I should. But I always hear both sides of the topic.

I’ve heard that watermarking protects artists from theft. But I also hear its a major turnoff to slap your name in the middle of a picture. For my original art I’m obviously going to start doing this but for fan art I’m not so concerned about being protected. I just feel like if I ever did come across anyone making a profit with my art and claiming they made it, I’d have the original source files with dates to prove otherwise. But because its always just silly sketches of things I like that I don’t own I don’t care so much. I just want my followers opinion on the matter.

Again. I WILL start doing this for original stuff but. Should I be concerned with watermarking my fanart or is watermarking a turnoff?

This is a crossover pic between the female Snow Leopard newscaster from Zootopia, and Sebastian St. Clair from Bojack Horseman. Part of the fun here was making a few tweaks to Sebastian’s character design to make him look like he fits with Zootopia’s universe.

everyone’s talking about the mouse like there isnt a naked woman transforming into a sexy snake right next to it

man it’s funny to joke about but it’s a real cute design and i could see it being an actual serious idea

Didn’t they just have a story a couple months ago how they found only innocent stuff stashed away?
