When you battle a Pokemon again, it will show you which attacks are super effective against that Pokemon.
Can we cater more to children? 🙄
Are you really mad about a game targeted for children being made accessible for them like grow up
I’m pretty sure the “Pokemon is for children” marketing ended a while ago actually. They’re clearly marketing to children and fans of the old series. You could argue they’ve changed their target demographic back when Black and White was released actually.
What's so bad about the new Resident Evil trailer, Morbi? Fans have been complaining since 5 they wanted a return to form and less action and shooting mechanics. And now they have it.
Assuming the teaser demo isn’t just some weird self-contained thing like PT was supposedly going to be, I wouldn’t really call it a return to form for Resident Evil.
It’s a totally different kind of horror, more in line with Outlast and other “helpless protagonist” horror games. It’s fair to say that there was probably too much of the big dumb action flick sequences in the later RE games, but what we’ve seen so far is going too far in the other direction.
I don’t get it. How can people hate rehashes and tired bored remakes/sequels of the same games but at the same time be upset when someone tries to take a risk and try something new. Like that’s my biggest beef with E3. Everyone doing boring sequels. But at least God of War and Resident Evil are making sequels while trying something different. You can’t say you hate repetitiveness and change. Does anyone remember how shitty Resident Evil 6 was? Are you honestly saying “Its not like 4,5, and 6. It’s a different kind of horror so its dumb.”? It’s a survival horror game. Not everyone is going to be Leon or Jill. Trained people stuck in scary situations.
Jesus Christ people make up your minds.
The problem is that the new God of War and Resident Evil games aren’t doing something new. They’re dropping elements from their old games in order to emulate what’s new and popular.
The Last Of Us was a huge hit, so the new God Of War suspiciously has a new over the shoulder camera, a younger partner character with a bow, and most bafflingly, a dynamic experience system.
PT and Outlast were popular, so the new Resident Evil teaser has a first person walk through a filthy, dangerous home with camcorder sequences, obtuse event trigger puzzles, and an enemy that offers absolutely no means of self defense and instakills you in a cutscene.
These things are “new” for their respective series, but they’re also the same fucking things that everyone else is doing, in a time where continuing and improving the traditional gameplay for each series would be a breath of fresh air.
Man fair enough but no one was complaining when Fallout 3 changed to a Morrowind type shooter when its previous games were a completely different genre. No one was complaining about the new over the shoulder perspective in Resident Evil 4 either. RE4 may have popularized the camera view but it wasn’t original.
These two games were at the very least a breath of fresh air. Hell the Zelda series is a perfect example.
It’s not original but it’s different enough to be its own thing whereas games like Watchdogs 2 literally look like DLC of the previous game. Despite people claiming its the same game sequel after sequel, each game is significantly different in setting and style. It may not “originality” but it’s a step forward rather than a jump in the same place.
