Why the fuck do the new robots have faces that open?

Literally what purpose does this serve other than to look creepy? 

I guess so maintenance can take the parts off to clean the pieces but then why not just have it a mask? I mean …

the robots don’t have expressions. Why segment the faces this way? I don’t get it.

These robots are rented off to children’s parties, so there’s security and safety issues. In the game you actually do maintance to this baby robot. You press buttons, you get keypads and memory cards from those segmented parts.
