Renekton [11:51]: when im through with you youll have to pee sitting down like a girl
(Thanks to ROCKCOCK64 for the quote!)

Inspired by Anita Sarkeesian’s Video Game Tropes vs Women, I wanted to pitch a Zelda game where Zelda herself was the hero, rescuing a Prince Link.
Clockwork Empire is set 2,000 years after Twilight Princess, and is not a reboot, but simply another iteration in the Zelda franchise. It just so happens that in this case, Zelda is the protagonist. I’m a very big Zelda fan, and worked hard to draw from key elements in the continuity and mythos.
This concept work is meant to show that Zelda as a game protagonist can be both compelling and true to the franchise, while bringing new and dynamic game elements that go farther than being a simple gender swap.
Hope you like it!
Interesting art and neat idea. I’d play the hell out of it because it looks fun as shit.
That said, I kind of want to bring up some opinions.
I don’t necessarily think that feminism means taking a certain trope and just swapping out the gender roles. Seriously, Zelda here just looks like a gender-bent version of Link. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a BAD thing (because shit, I’d love to play a game like that), but touting this as promoting feminism doesn’t really make it sound good. Why does Zelda have to be in Link’s role to be an empowered female? You could extrapolate that this idea is saying that in order for a woman to be part of the feminist ideal, she has to look and act like a man and that’s simply not true.
In Ocarina of Time, Zelda was pretty awesome. Not only was she the regal representative of the people of Hyrule, she was a badass ninja. Her magic was unparalleled. You can take that. You can run with that. Hell, keep her a Princess, but when shit goes down, she doesn’t wait for a hero, she goes out and does it herself because her people matter to her that much. Her noblesse oblige, if you will. She lives for her subjects and she’s willing to die for them as well.
I dunno. Feel free to yell at me for this or whatever. I just don’t feel like “but a girl” should be a selling point. What I’m seeing is simply “Like Link, but a girl.”
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Earlier after I posted the Sapphire shores pic, I made a joke about the puppies starving since I wanted to finish it before I started procrastinating again. I said that since they were 2 months old, they should be hunting for theirselves now.
Well I know this girl named irony. After I let them out today for an hour, I went to bring them back in. Its extremely cold outside so naturally 2 of them are at the door. 1 comes in, the 2nd one trudges along. Now there are three missing. Well, 2 puppies and the mother, Sheeba. Eventually the mother comes with her other 2 behind. Sydney, my favorite of all of them had a present. A dead squirrel in her mouth. I said NOPE and closed the door before the three of them could come in. Before you call the animal police, I did let them in when she dropped it. The mother probably caught it and gave it to her kid but still, the kid just drags it along instead of eating for like 15 minutes until she finally got the picture that I didn’t want to touch it.
Dogs are gross. If you’re going to eat it, fucking eat it. Don’t bring it in the house.
OH LOOK! ART.
Here have a cute but useless, loud, obnoxious, cutie-mark-less and annoying pony singing with Sapphire Shores.
a generalization of what i and most other artists experience constantly, it’s happened like 3 or 4 times in the past two days and wow had to get this out
I cannot lie, I’ve done this, and still find myself about to do it occasionally. Don’t everyone, it’s really awkward. Talk a bit, and if you find common ground, you’ll hit it off. If not, well, that’s okay. Can’t be friends with everyone.
The best one of these I’ve seen yet— in-depth and adorably illustrated.
The first and last examples have made great friends, the former with some coaxing because when I first talk to you the last thing I want to talk about is your creative insecurity, holy god.
The middle ones, I just wait for them to flutter off to their next obsession.
what marissa said, haha this is spot on
omg this is so accurate
Being modest all the time master race
I’ve been trying to recreate some characters in Maya but I’ve seem to be failing at all the ones I’ve tried. I am getting better but at the moment, I’m working on a character concept from my uncle. Even with all the tutorials I’ve seen I have the biggest problem with modelling. Texturing, Rigging, Animating and Rendering is not that big of a deal to me.

I feel I’m making progress though its hard to see. I see the benefits for modelling from the eye out ass opposed to reshaping a cube to make a face like I was taught.

AMERICA (It literally took me all day to find this image. It was sorted with my other fanart.)
THough I only saw some of some of the infamous episodes where the Fox LT. Came out. I figured It would be better to just start at the beginning when I was bored one day.
The CG one? I haven’t seen it yet. From the trailer it looks interesting enough. Animation looks kind of jerky. Though I was never a fan of TMNT. I don’t hate it, I just never got into it.
