I fucking HATE Job Fairs. Even if its JUST for internships! There is an intern fair today at my school and I always feel so awkward. There’s only like 2 places I would probably enjoy being an intern at, but I still feel pretty horrible going to talk to these people. I’m not afraid of talking, I’m afraid of first impressions. Pathetic as it sounds, I always come up with excuses for myself as to why I shouldn’t go head to head with someone.
- My Hair isn’t perfect
- I don’t know anything about them
- My resume is shit
- I’m sweating
Whatever the reason I just hate it. Last Job Fair I went to, I spaghetti’d all over the place asking about working at Disney, never got the job, and since then, I just avoided fairs like the plague.
As big as a cop-out as this might be, I found a new reason not to go to one. After taking a glance at the table I rushed to lunch where they were serving stir fry with fortune cookies. My cookie fortune literally says “Today is the day you let it go. Your chance will come. Learn Chinese - Dish (Cai) Lucky numbers 56, 18, 40 …,”
So to add to the list I gave, I let a cookie persuade me into not going. Although I think the fact that I applied at the job before the fair took place and sending an email saying “I couldn’t come to the fair because I had class and work.” would make me seem better instead of just doing what everyone else does. (That isn’t a lie by the way. I’m in the library working for my next class)
If I don’t get the position because I didn’t attend, whatever. But now you know something about me. The fair is over so don’t tell me to man up and head back.

No. You don’t understand. You’re all ignorant fuckwads. Let me explain you a thing. Female faces? They’re softer. As in regardless of bone structure their faces are SOFT looking. Because of this, light bends differently and catches angles differently and the what not. Its harder to animate/draw/paint the female form, as any artist. It’s the same issue with babies- the SOFTNESS of the figure makes it harder to art them. And now I’m done with this tangent flies into the sun.

female skin is NOT different from male skin, biologically
female skin isn’t softer, you’re just trained to think of it that way by media and our societal expectation that women use make-up to MAKE their skin look softer, which has not been done all throughout history and thus doesn’t actually make any sense in a movie set in a historical time period when nobody expected anybody to have flawless skin
the problem isn’t animating women
the problem is animating women to look like an ideal while still keeping them diverse
If animators treated women like humans beings they wouldn’t have this problem

Also I quite often have teachers tell me I need to down grade the way I draw noses and eyebrows and such on women. Draw less lines and details on women, they must all be beautiful and soft looking. I’ve actually had a teacher say: that’s why anime is so successful because the eyes are so big and they hardly even draw the nose. It’s appealing and should be used when always drawing women and children. AND THIS IRRITATES ME SO MUCH. I know it sells but I don’t want that. I want diverse, REALISTIC and different women with big noses and bushy eyebrows. With cheekbones and square jaws even. Not every female has a tiny, perfect nose, round features and perfect soft skin. arrrrrgI.. I’m just so happy that people are using both 3D and traditional animation in this post about animation… it’s so wonderful to see… thank you ;_;

As much as I agree with a lot of the points made, holy shit that was one of the most annoying things I’ve ever had on my wall. From Animators making excuses to beating an already hammered nail.
Like a lot of people, I’ve sort of left my mayoral duties to Isabelle in order to become a pokemon master.
In two days, I’ll probably be picking up Ace Attorney 5, and next month, a Link Between Worlds is coming out. So busy!

Today for the first time I played ACNL since Pokemon X came out and Isabelle and all my townsfolk told me that they had missed me and all that. Legit the first time a game made me feel guilty for not playing it.
I’M CRYING.
I find this even funnier since her Chespin is still at stage 1. I mean if you haven’t even evolved it yet, how long could you have played the game? I know not all people have to evolve it but I find it funny Isabelle getting all sad after MC has been gone for like 2 days.
